SAIC is the premier Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) integrator with expertise in transforming legacy command and control systems into a modern hybrid cloud environment to accelerate decision making and increase mission success. This new program is part of broader effort to provide a tactical operational picture aligned with the JADC2 and Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) to adapt to new and emerging threats.

SAIC is seeking an experienced Technical Writer in support of our United States Air Force customer. This position will require a solid understanding of technology, producing technical documents compliant to Government Data Item Descriptions (DIDs), and working with government programs. A successful candidate will develop and implement a system to track all Contractor Deliverable Requirements List (CDRLs) and coordinate with respective Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to author, review, and ensure on time delivery of CDRLs. Experience writing and conducting quality reviews of CDRL deliverables being submitted to the customer is required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop or use existing tools to decompose and track all program CDRL requirements

• Collect and report on time delivery metrics

• Understanding customer requirements and preferences related to writing task assignments

• Develop templates for technical documents and CDRLs; ensure deliverables comply with all Government CDRL DIDs

• Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements

• Using technical data, engineering specifications, or commercial specification sheets to translate data into user-friendly documentation

• Preparation of software and hardware documentation formats/templates, analytical reports, as well as technical training material and manuals

• Coordinate with Program Managers and update and maintain executive summary task order descriptions

• Provide technical editing support for the internal team as needed

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s and nine (9) years or more experience; Master’s and seven (7) years or more experience; PhD or JD and four (4) years or more experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

• US Citizenship and a DOD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI

• Extensive experience with writing government CDRLs

• Experience with developing against DIDs

• Working experience in technical writing of software and hardware documentation

• Experience in proofing and editing digital deliverables (i.e. Cameo)

• Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail

• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable

• Excellent writing skills

• Excellent time management skills

• Excellent collaboration & organization skills

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other digital tools (Cameo)

• Familiarity with technology, software development and requirements

Target salary range: $100,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
