Description

SAIC has an opening for a Continuity Planner in Arlington, VA (Pentagon). The Continuity Planner position supports the Marine Corps mission by managing, planning, and administering Continuity of Operations (COOP) programs, and providing workable solutions for the actions and issues related to potential and actual localized acts of nature, accidents, technological emergencies, and military or terrorist attacks that could cause initial mission degradation.

• Serve as principal continuity advisor to the HQMC Continuity Program Manager (CPM), assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of continuity strategies, plans, and procedures.
• Support the validation of continuity plans through continuity exercises by writing exercise Letters of Instruction, preparing exercise briefs and scenarios, administering exercise injections, preparing after action reports, and tracking after action items.
• Annually review HQMC continuity plans and orders to ensure they comply with higher level continuity guidance.
• Serve as point of contact for HQMC department continuity planners.
• Develop and provide continuity training materials and briefings to HQMC senior leaders and continuity personnel. Review all external continuity tasks assigned to HQMC and recommend responses to the HQMC CPM. 
• Serve as the HQMC point of contact for the use of an alternate site.
• Assist in organizing and maintaining the HQMC continuity portal to ensure needed information is readily available to continuity personnel.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree and Nine (9) years of related experience [OR] Bachelor's and Six (6) or more years of relative experience in Continuity of Operations, Business Continuity, Crisis Management or a related discipline.

• Marine Corps and HQMC mission and organizational structure
• DoD, Joint Staff, DoN, and HQMC continuity plans, facilities, and crisis procedures
• National Military Command System platforms and crisis procedures
• Fluency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint portal applications
• Able to create formal networks internally and externally among HQMC/USMC.
• Able to perform complex and ambiguous assignments
• Able to work effectively in a collaborative environment
• Able to manage multiple tasks with competing timelines and deliverables
• Two (2) years of experience as an Action Officer or Staff member at Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps in a continuity related billet may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

DESIRED:

• Capable of working in a dynamic fast paced environment with numerous competing priorities.
• Active Secret security clearance 

CLEARANCE:

• U.S. citizenship required
• Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance
