Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The successful candidate will work with limited supervision as part of the Traffic Flight Data Manager (TFDM) Program Office within the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) with a variety of Systems Engineering and Integration, Implementation, and Operational Planning and Analysis tasks.
Serves as a senior level air traffic control system specialist to assist the FAA in coordinating activities with air traffic Engineering Services, and Technical Operations personnel. Coordinating all facets of system implementation and providing on-site management of all site preparation and installation activities. Reviews and coordinates contract deliverables with appropriate offices. This support includes coordinating support for required technical interchange meetings and various program reviews and coordinating work group activities for Air Traffic Organization (ATO) program offices.
Travel (30-40%) outside assigned work area.
Qualifications
MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Extensive knowledge of air traffic operations and procedures in the en route and terminal domains
Experience integrating work efforts involving decision support systems
Ability to communicate with various relevant stakeholder organizations within the FAA
Skilled in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Knowledge of the FAA Order 7110.65 Air Traffic Control and its application in the NAS
Understand FAA’s automation and traffic management systems
Excellent written and verbal communication skills using both technical and user-friendly language
Possess a flexible personality, self-motivated and willingness to multi-task
Detailed-oriented mindset and proficiency in researching and analyzing highly technical information and systems
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as a part of a team
Proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Participate in customer and stakeholder meetings
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in any field and 10 years’ experience.
Associate’s degree with 15 years of Air Traffic Control (ATC) active, full performance level experience, or
20 years of Air Traffic Control (ATC) active, full performance level experience, in lieu of degree, is required.
Equivalent experience in the U.S. Military or international control environment is acceptable.
CLEARANCE:
US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
