ASSOCIATE DEVELOPMENT

We encourage our attorneys to assume responsibility early in their careers. Our goal is to have associates providing hands-on support as soon as possible by working directly with clients, participating in court procedures and depositions, leading client calls and attending closings. Our dedication to serving our clients is paramount and only attainable by proactively incorporating the help of our associates.
Our members maintain an open door policy at all times to encourage an open dialogue between members and associates. We provide mentors to new associates to guide learning, development and transition, as well as to act as a professional development sounding board. We invest in our attorneys through informal training programs, including practice-focused workshops, continuing legal education seminars, and other informal training programs to promote learning and professional growth.

Records and Facilities Specialist Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Records Management

Provide records management services for the firm. These include:
    • Process requests for files; retrieve and return files as requested and maintain detailed and accurate records of records activity;
    • Establish and enter file information (ID number, location, index, etc.) into records management software for new, updated and closed files;
    • Ensure all files and records are appropriately indexed and stored;
    • File, scan, archive and/or destroy records as appropriate;
    • Receive, prepare and process records for long term on-site and off-site storage;
    • Utilize full functionality of records management software for overall records-keeping and reporting;
    • Coordinate with other records-keeping staff for efficient services.

Facilities Services

  • Assist with a variety of areas of office facility services including, but not limited to:
  • Light maintenance, such as changing light bulbs, hanging pictures/degrees in offices, etc., occasional repairs;
  • Setting up and clearing out employee’s offices and workstations; occasional light furniture moving;
  • Provide back-up support to office clerks as needed with copying, scanning and mailroom duties;
  • Take inventory and stock office supplies as needed;
  • Accept, process and store large deliveries;
  • Maintenance of office facilities.

Requirements and skills:

  • Ability to maintain detailed records;
  • Ability to efficiently utilize sophisticated records-keeping software;
  • Ability to track, organize and maintain order with dozens of boxes of physical files;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication skills for working with attorneys, co-workers, vendors, facilities staff;
  • Excellent work ethic and ability to work independently;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Education and Experience:

  • College degree or experiential equivalent strongly preferred;
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain detailed records;
  • Proficiency with information technology;
  • Demonstrated willingness to handle duties requiring physical labor.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer;
  • Must be able to lift boxes of files (up to 30 pounds), multiple times a day;
  • Must be able to move around office facilities for maintenance tasks, including climbing on ladders, under desks, etc.
