SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking an Billing and Program Analysis Manager focused on billing and adjacent aspects of our insurance programs. What you'd be doing:

  • Build and maintain an Excel (or equivalent) model that replicates SageSure billing calculations used to compare and validate production policy data while also supporting the establishment of robust monitoring of our production system.
  • Trace and understand policy ledger data from policy inception through premium and commission reporting to confirm accuracy.
  • Take direction from business leaders related to updates to the billing logic and ensure those are documented accurately and implemented with quality.
  • Support the evolution and modernization of billing systems, processes, and capabilities.
  • Interpret and understand key billing concepts like taxes, fees, surcharges, etc. and be able to confirm production accuracy as it relates to our products and policies.
  • Understand, own, and manage business requirements for billing calculations, ensuring alignment with company standards and objectives.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of billing calculations, providing clear context on their utilization and maintenance.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineering and technical teams to ensure accurate implementation of billing logic.
  • Provide regular updates to technical and non-technical stakeholders on the status, findings, and recommendations related to billing.
  • Conduct in-depth current state analysis to identify efficiencies, discrepancies, and areas of improvement.
  • Utilize SQL queries to extract necessary data for analysis.
  • Support ad-hoc corrective action efforts as they arise.
  • Support ad-hoc initiatives aimed at improving SageSure's insurance programs.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Advanced Excel skills such as complex formulas and VBA.
  • Demonstrated understanding of billing concepts and how those are treated through the insurance policy lifecycle.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in billing systems, business analysis, or a related role.
  • Proven track record of successfully collaborating with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Minimum of 5 years in insurance, ideally in insurance policy management and related systems.
  • Experience in designing, documenting, and overseeing business logic and processes.
  • Proficient in SQL for data querying and analysis.
  • Demonstrated understanding of an insurance accounting ledger and the associated data flows through to bordereau's.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

Highly preferred candidates also have:

  • Master's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in code review or working closely with software engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of other programming languages or data visualization tools.
  • Business Analyst Certification or other relevant insurance industry certifications
  • Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) Designation
