Overview:

SageSure, a leader in catastrophe-exposed property insurance, is seeking an AVP, Specialty Operations, who's passionate about being there for our customers when disasters strike. You'll collaborate across the organization to develop and lead the Claims Department's Specialty Operations strategy, leveraging employees, vendors, technologies, and innovation. What you'd be doing:

  • Responsible for the oversight and strategic advancement of an all-encompassing strategy for Specialty Operations, which include the following functions/areas:
    • Special Investigation
    • Subrogation
    • Salvage
    • Complex Claims - Litigation and Liability
    • First Notice of Loss and Claim Inquiry Process
  • Develop, monitor, and refine Specialty Operations performance metrics and reporting to ensure alignment with Claims Department and Organizational goals.
  • Foster collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, leveraging these relationships to execute and refine strategic plans for achieving the department's overarching goals and objectives.
  • Spearhead initiatives to drive operational efficiencies and implement process improvements, ultimately elevating the performance of Specialty Operations and the overall department.
  • Serve as the ambassador of the Claims Department in strategic cross-functional projects actively contributing to initiatives aimed at elevating and refining organizational results.
  • Uphold the SageSure brand by cultivating and sustaining robust relationships with a diverse array of internal and external stakeholders, including vendor partners, regulators, and law enforcement agencies. Recognize these connections' integral role in shaping the company's reputation and overall success.
  • Demonstrate astute financial management by developing and overseeing departmental budgets, ensuring the judicious allocation of resources for cost-effective and impactful operations.
  • Collaborate closely with fellow senior leaders within the Claims Department to identify and capture continuous improvement opportunities that enhance department performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Take a leadership role in talent acquisition, management, and retention initiatives, serving as a partner and sponsor to drive sustained and successful long-term Claims Department and Organizational plans.
  • Uphold a commitment to regulatory compliance and adherence to company policies, integrating these principles into the foundation of day-to-day operations.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • A minimum of 10 years of P&C experience
  • 7 years of Property Claims Experience
  • 5 years of leadership experience, ideally within:
    • Litigation/Liability
    • Special Investigation
    • Subrogation and/or salvage
    • FNOL or Claims Call Center
  • Adjuster licensed or meets requirements for licensing in applicable states.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing remote teams.
  • Strong strategic thinking and business acumen.
  • Proven track record of success in driving operational excellence and achieving business objectives.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop innovative solutions.
  • An exceptional coach who can bring out the best in their teams and is committed to the development of their team.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Highly preferred candidates also have:

  • 'Leading Leaders' experience.
  • Extensive litigation and liability leadership experience.
  • Professional designations.
  • Field property claims experience.
  • Catastrophe property claim experience.
