JOB TITLE: Maintenance Technician/DriverPROPERTY: Village Crossing DEPARTMENT: Maintenance REPORTS TO: Building Engineer FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt POSITION SUMMARY:The Maintenance Technician/Driver is responsible for assisting the Director of Maintenance in meeting the safety, maintenance, and general upkeep of the physical plant.The Maintenance Technician/Driver will oversee other maintenance personnel as assigned for the purpose of maximizing the efficiency of the workforce and meeting shift requirements. As a Driver you are responsible for transporting residents to appointments and events. Assist in the maintenance and operations of the community’s HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, safety, and communication systems. 3. Complete requests for maintenance and repair in support of residents and employees. 4. Ensure that vacant apartments are expeditiously readied for new residents to include carpet cleaning, painting, and general maintenance.5. Conduct grounds work to include waste disposal, landscaping, snow removal and pest control. 6. Assist other departments in setting up for resident events and activities.7. Transport residents safely to and from scheduled appointments and events.8. Assist residents in and out of the vehicles and to their scheduled appointments, ensuring that they have safely arrived. 9. Ensure that all vehicles are clean and properly maintained.10. Keep current with state and facility required annual training.11. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:Education:High school or GED equivalent.Experience: 2 years’ experience in a maintenance position supporting a physical plant and 2 years’ experience as a driver.Skills: Demonstrated ability to perform general maintenance tasks.Able to speak, read, and understand English at a 12th grade level or higher.Licensures and Certifications:Current First Aid and CPR certifications preferred.Valid Maryland driver’s license. WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to lift/push/pull/carry minimum of 50 lbs without assistance.Ability to lift/push/pull/carry minimum of 75 lbs with assistance.Able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and stoop as needed.Able to safely and properly operate a motor vehicle.Able to walk up/down four flights of stairs. Equipment Used: Hand and Power tools. Other Requirements: May be required to stay overnight during extreme weather conditions.
