Summary:
Under supervision, the Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) provides peer support services, serves as an advocate for the individual and family, provides information and peer support for participants. CRS services are provided before, during, and after treatment. The CRS performs a wide range of tasks to assist individuals in improving their health and wellness. The CRS will model competence in recovery and coping.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Assist individuals in articulating personal goals for recovery
  • Assist individuals in determining reasonable and holistic steps moving toward recovery
  • Assist individuals in identifying barriers and strengths to recovery goals
  • Observe and reinforce positive progress that individuals make toward recovery goals
  • Teach problem-solving skills
  • Teach individuals to identify and combat negative self-talk
  • Teach individuals how to identify and overcome fears
  • Support the vocational choices individuals make and assist them in overcoming job-related anxieties and conflicts
  • Assist individuals in building social skills by demonstrating and reinforcing proper conduct and respectful interaction
  • Attend all required staff/team meetings
  • Use his/her unique recovery experience to teach and role model the value of every individual's recovery experience.
  • Maintain effective coping and self-help techniques.
  • Maintian/obtain CRS credentials through PCB requirments
  • Attend relevant seminars and staff in-service trainings
  • Investigate community resources for appropriateness of services to individuals
  • Maintain confidentiality of participant information
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and ethical conduct with individuals and avoid dual relationships within the community
  • Fulfill documentation requirements of employer accurately and in a timely manner using an Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Use inclusive, culturally appropriate language and attitudes with all clients and staff
  • Man the 24/7 phone help line on rotating basis
  • Assist with and facilitate groups, workshops, and events, as appropriate
  • Present at community and school events as appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty

satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and /or ability required.

Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Self-identify as an individual in recovery. Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, be able to use technology and the ability to meet written communication requirements.

Must be able to verify completion of state-approved training program and passing score on certification exam or be able to begin training upon hire.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
