about the director of people:
soona is looking for a director of people to lead our talent management, human resource and recruiting functions with the goal of continuing to grow soona as a highly sought after employer with an exceptional crew and culture. responsibilities for this senior role are broad, strategic and highly impactful. they include recruiting for executive and staff positions, hr compliance across multiple states, compensation strategy, benefits administration, onboarding, the employee review process, employee satisfaction, and support and enhancement of soona's culture. the ideal candidate will have deep experience in the organization's culture building and talent strategy with an exceptional ability to communicate at all levels of the company. this individual will be a proven producer, dynamic, extremely comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and energized by rapid growth and scale.

Requirements
an ideal candidate can:
  • set the strategy for the People Ops (HR) function: establish goals that reflect overall business priorities, address near and long-term priorities, and deliver increasingly better results for the team and company
  • develop People Ops capabilities: raise the skills and impact of your team, prioritize work that matters, and balance delivering on existing responsibilities with adding new ones that unlock more value and results
  • lead strategic recruiting efforts: increase awareness among target talent pools; elevate our assessment capabilities; coach our hiring teams; leverage technology to increase efficiency and streamline the process; and ensure we have a foundation that will continue to get results as we scale
  • build and manage performance and talent management programs: enable leaders to align crew members to critical work, evaluate and improve individual and team performance, and advance the careers of high performers
  • demonstrate expertise as a business partner: build strong relationships at every level, advise and support leaders through change and challenges, and listen to gain perspective and surface opportunities that will benefit soona and our crew
  • refine and optimize People Ops operations: incorporate new compliance requirements, design simple and effective processes, make smart financial and operational decisions about systems and vendor partnerships; leverage data and soona experience to make recommendations at renewals/business milestones
  • use your creativity, curiosity and knowledge: to evolve the People Ops function alongside the business and build an experience our crew will love
has experience in:
  • 10 years of people operations and talent development experience; BA/BS desired
  • proven and measurable experience building and/or rolling out impactful talent solutions in a fast-paced or high growth environment
  • understanding of financial principles to make informed decisions regarding systems, vendor partnerships, and resource allocation
  • experience in utilizing people metrics and data reporting to optimize People Ops efficiencies and facilitate informed decision-making for stakeholders
  • exceptional communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and problem solving skills; ability to effectively address tricky situations and have difficult conversations
  • proficiency in leading organizational change initiatives and supporting employees through transitions
  • self starter and task juggler with strong organizational skills/detail orientation
  • demonstrated experience working across all levels of an organization
  • experience supporting the evolution of a high performing, high morale culture is a strong plus in our hiring process
Benefits
we can offer:
  • strong starting salary: $125,000 - $140,000
