Health Information Management Technicians/Medical Records at Sagamore Children’s Psychiatric Center perform a variety of activities related to the health records of patients including:
· Ensure the accuracy of clinical progress notes, laboratory reports, and treatment records.
· Review facility staff medical and clinical services documentation for Medicaid funding.
· Transcribe and code medical, clinical, and mental health services.
· Maintain databases for tracking health information disclosures.
· Provide technical assistance and support to facility and clinical staff on health information management requirements.
· May supervise lower-level clerical and support staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
· Health Information Management Technician 1
o Current certification by the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
· Health Information Management Technician 2
o Current certification by the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or
o Current certification by the American Health Information Management Association as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) and 1 year of full-time professional (post-RHIT) health information management experience.
