General Description
The Cost Accountant ensures that costs for the company’s products and services are allocated according to corporate procedures and in compliance with IFRS & USGAAP. Responsible to collect, analyze, and prepare relevant information for senior management to review when making financial decisions.
Task / Duty
Analyze all sales & gross margin activities for on-board and testing Business Line to include revenue recognition for long-term projects.
Prepares business activity reports, financial reports, rolling forecasts, key performance indicators, and actuals vs. budget analysis.
Develop cost standards for standard costs and various labor rates
Analyze standard cost variances monthly
Perform month-end & year-end close activities
Perform account reconciliation’s as assigned
Oversee physical inventory to ensure accuracy and integrity of all company inventories.
Responsible for managing all company inventory accounts
Comply with SDS Inc procedures, policies, and Security requirements
Additional duties can be assigned by the supervisor
Knowledge
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar role
Government accounting to include CAS, building labor rates and price justification experience is a plus
Must be detail orientated and organized
Ability to work in a self-directed environment
MS Office and standard business software tools
Must be capable of passing a background check
Must be a US citizen
