Safford Automotive Group is seeking a qualified Controller to join our dynamic team to oversee two dealerships in Springfield Virginia.

This is an incredible opportunity for a detail orientated experienced professional with automotive Controller experience to join one of the largest dealer groups in the Mid-Atlantic.

Responsibilities:

The Controller will report directly to the CFO and General Manager and will provide guidance to accounting staff and office manager, dealership employees along with the management company.

• Manager accounting office staff
• Analyze and organize office/administrative operations and procedures
• Ensure that all scheduled accounts, including warranty claims, rebates, parts and vehicle inventory, are current and accurate
• Review the reconciliation of general ledger accounts with outside sources to ensure bank reconciliations, reserve accounts and factory and floor plan payables are accurate
• Work with office managers to perform month and year end closes on a timely basis with manufacturers
• Work closely with all departments in both an accounting and operational capacity
• Perform income and expense analysis on exceptions or deviations
• Ensure that a strong internal control environment is consistently maintained
• Other duties and responsibilities as required and essential to the position
• Prepare Corporate Monthly Financial Statement to Manufacturer
• Provide reports for CFO and COA
• Oversee HR and Payroll functions
• Assist with all state tax filings

Qualifications:

• Previous automotive Controller experience required
• Strong communication, customer service and leadership skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Reynolds Dealership software preferred
• Excellent analytical ability
• Knowledge of Reynolds & Reynolds

Pay Commensurate with experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
