Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Manager to join our team. As the Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote a safe working environment. You will work closely with management and employees to identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and implement effective safety training programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in occupational health and safety, possess excellent communication skills, and be knowledgeable in EPA, OSHA, and workers compensation laws.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to safety protocols
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop corrective actions
- Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans and procedures
- Provide training on safety topics such as hazard identification, personal protective equipment (PPE), and emergency response
- Develop and deliver safety-related presentations to employees at all levels of the organization
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, training sessions, and other relevant data
- Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and changes in regulatory requirements related to occupational health and safety
Experience:
- CDL with passanger endorsement required.
- Knowledge in School Bus transportation a plus
- Minimum 2 years proven experience as a Safety Manager or similar role
- In-depth knowledge of EPA, OSHA, workers compensation laws, and other relevant regulations
- Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and root cause analysis techniques
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex information
- Experience in developing and delivering safety training programs
- Certification in First Aid/CPR is a plus
