Role Purpose: Work in the instrumentation department building strain gage and/or load cell instrumentation for the design and production of crash test dummies and dummy calibration equipment. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Ability to Solder fine components using handheld soldering equipmentApply strain gages to various transducer parts Apply gage wire to various transducer partsThe ability to use microscopes, tweezers, ovens and special adhesive according to drawing specificationsCut gaging material with scalpelPerform quality checks including bridge resistance and checking for shortsAssist in the development of process sheets for gaging and wiring load cellsOther duties as assigned Other Significant Role Requirements: Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Physical CapabilityAbility to remain in stationary position for long periods of time utilizing a microscope.
