Position Profile: Financial Controller

Summary: We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to drive our organization’s financial operations. This successful, 39-year traffic safety organization fosters a work/life integrated model with a hybrid in-office/remote platform. The values-based culture and team approach guides our mission. Responsibilities:

• Manage and conduct all financial aspects, including payroll and associated taxes, accounting, and purchasing
• Process and reconcile monthly billings for: federal and state contracts
• A/P, A/R (revenue recognition and billing), general accounting, reconciliations, month-end close, and maintaining workpapers
• Ability to prepare cost allocations for contract billing
• Responsible for preparing monthly financial statements and reports
• Preparing information and responding to requests for audits
• Ability to prepare budgets and financial reports, and identify fiscal trends
• Assist with RFP and contractual proposals
• Assist with benefit package
• Knowledge of operations management and ability to consult with CEO to enhance programs

Requirements:

• Knowledge of federal and state fiscal requirements in accordance with GAAP
• Experience in non-profit financial management- federal, and state funding
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
• Proficient in accounting software - Sage50
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication skills

Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience: Minimum five years preferred

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
