Associate Vice President - Streetwork Youth Programs

The Associate Vice President acts as a chief architect in designing, directing and implementing potential future changes in practice, focusing on safety assessment, risk management and the needs presented by the client. The AVP promotes and reinforces organizational effectiveness, capacity building and strong culture initiatives, as well as employee and team engagement and retention.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn and integrate a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, using an anti-oppressive lens, into your work with clients. Coach and guide staff in their client practice that reflects these approaches.
  • Provide overall strategic vision and guidance for all program operations, including creatively ensuring on-going program development and enhancement.
  • Oversee program and policy development, budgeting, staffing, community relations, agency relations, publicity, fundraising.
  • Oversee and manage the operating budget for all Streetwork sites
  • Oversee fulfillment of all contract and reporting requirements for Streetwork drop-in, outreach, peer education program, and case management services.
  • Recruit, hire and train appropriate staff for open positions.Regularly conduct biweekly supervision and regular staff meetings and provide timely and effective performance feedback through regular performance reviews.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with a wide range of external stakeholders, as well as other government, private and non-profit partners.
  • Champions policy change at the City and State level to better meet the needs of the Streetwork youth.
  • Coordinate all consultative relationships with process facilitators, clinicians, medical, and legal service providers.
  • Oversee staff training, workshops and activities to support staff enrichment and development.
  • Network and advocate for homeless services, harm reduction, and youth programs
  • Promotes and contributes towards Safe Horizon’s goals to provide support, prevent violence, and advocate justice for victims, their families and communities by initiating and participating in activities and functions that enhance and encourage organizational diversity.

Qualifications:

  • Seven years of relevant management experience, using a client-centered approach, providing supervision within a geographically dispersed social service organization providing direct services to at-risk or similar population.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field
  • A sound knowledge of issues related to victimization, crime, and abuse
  • Commitment to anti-racism and anti-oppression work including self-reflection, changing systems, organizational structures, policies and practices and attitudes, and supporting staff through change and discomfort.
  • Demonstrated experience developing strategic initiatives and achieving results that are client centered to ensure that client needs are built into solutions and processes.
  • Demonstrated managerial experience, utilizing diplomacy, tact, discretion and negotiation skills, with a successful track record of instilling direction and leadership, mentoring staff, evaluation performance, and providing performance feedback.
  • Demonstrated ability to attract, develop, motivate and retain quality staff and manage performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal, platform and presentation skills to communicate with internal or external audiences;
  • Strong interpersonal, listening skills and solid time management skills
  • The ability to manage multiple complex issues at the same time and exercise sound judgment.
  • Computer literacy and analytical skills required; proficiency in Microsoft Office software and proficiency in using and understanding data as a management tool.

Hiring Pay Range: 99,000.00 - 111,375.00 Salaried

Full-time Hours: 35 Hours per week
