Job Title: Production Lead 2nd Shift
Department: Manufacturing Department Non-Exempt
Reports To: Manufacturing Supervisor
Job Summary: Provides technical direction, leadership and motivation for paint and paint preparation personnel.
This position has a significant impact on production efficiencies for manpower and materials. Externally this position has significant impact on customer satisfaction.
Ensures that safe procedures are being used.
Ensures that all quality policies and procedures are being followed according to R•O•M's Quality Management System.
Performs root cause analysis for poor quality and other production issues.
Trains production personnel in accordance with work instructions.
Updates work instructions as needed.
Provides leadership and direction which includes positive reinforcement and motivation.
Familiar with Supervisor and Scheduler tasks necessary for daily department function.
Communicates with sales, purchasing, engineering, shipping/receiving as needed.
Develops and implements productivity improvement projects that support Lean initiatives.
Assigns duties to department personnel and monitors adherence to production schedules.
Performs production duties as needed.
Ensures that the department is organized and clean.
Other duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Demonstrated ability to lead and coach others.
Demonstrated ability to read engineering drawings.
Demonstrated ability to operate both hand and power tools used in paint surface preparation and finishing.
Knowledge of industrial paint applications and surface preparation.
Good interpersonal skills.
Training in Lead Six Sigma, Safety and Quality.
Dimensional measurement skills.
Thorough knowledge of work instructions for products being manufactured.
Computer literacy on company supported programs.
Knowledge of R•O•M's Quality Management System.
Demonstrated ability to perform each process for which he/she is responsible.
