Overview

Job Objective: To serve all food and beverage effectively in accordance with Sacred Rock Inn policies, procedures and standards. Consistently meets or exceeds the standards for guest service and cleanliness. Responds to guest requests; is familiar with and complies with the Sacred Rock Inn standards and philosophy in performing all key areas of accountability and other essential duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Education/Experience: High school level education; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.• Equipment/Computer Expertise: Ability to operate restaurant Touch Bistro systems.• Language Skills: Ability to read, understand and speak English. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.• Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.• Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Safe Serve certification. CPR certification may be required.

Pay range: $16.00 to $20.80 per hour

*Includes a gas benefit per shift for qualifying employees!

Responsibilities

Key Areas of Accountability:1. Setting tables - All table items must be properly placed using established restaurant procedures.2. Greeting and Seating – All guests will be greeted with a smile escorted to a table.3. Using a tray - Deliver all foods and beverage on a tray. Follow guidelines for the proper use of a tray. 4. Basic Service Guidelines - Responds to all guest requests quickly and courteously.5. Table Service - All table service will be conducted in a friendly, responsive and professional manner. All food and beverage will be served in a timely manner following proper sequence of service while remaining responsive to all guest requests.6. Clearing tables - All table encounters will be friendly, yet discreet and sensitive to guest needs.7. Cleanliness - Maintains cleanliness of the restaurants inside and outside seating areas.8. Communication - Acts as a team player and liaison between kitchen and guests.9. Check and Billing Procedures: Adhere to Inn’s accounting policies and procedures as they relate to food and beverage. 10. Safety and Security - Maintains safety and security of guests at all times. Performs all duties in a safe manner as outlined in the codes of safe practice learned in the Safe Serv Course. Reports all accidents & incidents to supervisor immediately regardless of severity. 11. Key Control - Adheres to key control policy and procedure according to set standards. 12. Adheres to and promotes the Sacred Rock Inn standards.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:A. Assist with set up of any Inn receptions.B. Assists with preparation and delivery of amenities such as fruit baskets and wine as needed.C. Keeps storage areas neat and organized.D. Maintains cleanliness of outside seating, and provides service to in-house guests as assigned. E. Restocks supply areas as needed. F. Have wine, beer and spirits knowledge to effectively sell to patrons.G. Knowledgeable of proper serving etiquette. H. Assists in training new/other employees.I. Participate in ongoing learning of culinary and beverage service. J. Other duties, as assigned.
