Job Overview:
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Summer Camp Assistant. As an assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and engaging experience for campers. This is a paid position that offers the opportunity to work with children in a fun and supportive environment.
Duties:
- Supervise and ensure the safety of campers at all times
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, games, and crafts
- Assist with organizing and implementing daily schedules
- Provide guidance and support to campers in their personal growth and development
- Foster a positive and inclusive camp environment
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive team
-Communicate (both oral and written) with parents about discipline, permission slips, instructions, pick-up times, and attendance.
-Maintain positive parent relations. Respond promptly and courteously to parent concerns and/or complaints. Immediately notify the Aftercare Coordinator of reported parental concerns.
Experience:
- Previous experience working with children, such as daycare, early childhood education, or tutoring
- Knowledge of childhood development and behavior management techniques
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting
- Familiarity with working knowledge of the structures and operations of the Catholic church is desirable
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Pass all required background checks and screenings
- Ability to provide references from previous childcare or counseling positions
Working Conditions:
Work is generally in a school setting with outside activities. Some work with computer requires sitting for some periods; using hands to handle objects, lift objects or materials of up to 30 pounds. Must be able to use telephone (hear and speak).
