Scope of Responsibility:

Responsible for plant level descriptive analytics to enable accurate executive management decisions via legitimate data with integrity to given results. Responsible for oversite of plant level dashboard reporting on quality metrics to enable team problem solving and business excellence. Train, mentor, coach and evangelize a passion for quality, customer satisfaction and a client view within/throughout the Sabre Industries businesses.

Essential Duties:

• Maintain and work to continually improve quality processes and systems to influence the Sabre team and proactively create a customer appreciated product which our industry views as a superior quality product
• Manage quality team to ensure accurate assessment of process control and final product quality with outcomes that meet or exceed customer requirements and industry specifications.
• Plans and organizes daily, weekly and monthly activities to manage facility level inspection activities and field service oversite when & where inspection or NDT services are required.
• Work weekly with facility team members to accurately capture true costs with reference to scrap, warranty, rework and related Cost of Quality so reporting accuracy is maintained for deep dive quality meetings and customer reporting indexes.
• Work with facility team members to accurately drive NCR closure and assure that proper root cause is assessed/assigned and long-term preventive actions are appropriate and validated accurately.
• Maintains all project inspection data and validates adherence to customer specifications and industry standards.
• Act as Management Representative for AISC & related industry certifications and Lead Internal Auditor for all internal audit activities.
• Manages all aspects of staff selection, onboarding and ongoing appraisal in compliance with customer HR policies.
• Monitors, and assures all employees maintain current NDT and company certifications per their required re-certification schedule.

Position Requirements: 

• Knowledge of heavy manufacturing (fabrication, machinery) required.
• Knowledge and mastery of known quality management tools (7 quality tools).
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred (will accept equivalent industrial experience) – prefer Quality or Engineering Management background.
• Some Domestic Travel Required – 5 to 20% as needed to Sabre Facilities and Customer Locations.
• AWS D1.1 Experience Preferred or ASTM Pressure Vessel – background in SAW, and or GMAW welding
• ASQ Certification Preferred – CQM/OE, CQE or CQA
• NACE Experience would be a benefit – background in galvanizing, coatings, or plating

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 25 pounds
• Must be able to walk and perform activities that require considerable use of arms and moving entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, twisting and handling materials - within an office, manufacturing environment and potentially client based outside utilities, such as storage yards, utility lines and customer testing facilities
• Must be willing to visit customer and client locations in an open environment, possibly exposed to extreme temperatures – while maintaining a safe work ethic and using proper PPE as required for the occasion.
