Sabino Recovery, a leading provider of holistic behavioral health services, is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. As a Behavioral Health Technician, you will play a pivotal role in providing support and care to individuals undergoing treatment for substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders.
**Responsibilities:**
- **Client Support:** Provide compassionate and non-judgmental support to clients throughout their treatment journey. Foster a safe and supportive environment conducive to healing and recovery.
- **Observation and Documentation:** Monitor clients’ behaviors, emotional states, and progress, and document observations accurately and thoroughly. Maintain detailed and confidential records of client interactions and treatment progress.
- **Crisis Intervention:** Respond calmly and effectively to crisis situations, de-escalating conflicts and providing emotional support to clients in distress. Follow established protocols and procedures for managing emergencies.
- **Collaboration:** Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members, including therapists, nurses, and medical staff, to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Participate in treatment team meetings and contribute insights and observations.
- **Education and Support:** Educate clients on coping skills, relapse prevention strategies, and healthy lifestyle choices. Facilitate group therapy sessions and psychoeducational workshops on topics related to addiction recovery and mental health wellness.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience working in behavioral health or substance abuse treatment setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
- Empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental attitude towards individuals with substance abuse and mental health challenges.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Facilitates didactic lectures, workshops, educational resident groups, and resident community meetings.
• Recognizes, prevents, and responds to situations in which a resident may be a danger to self or others, behaves in an aggressive or destructive manner, may be experiencing a crisis or may be experiencing a medical emergency.
• Reads, interprets, and implements client’s treatment plan.
• Coordinates recreational and social activities for residents within the milieu.
• Provides support and encouragement to residents, demonstrating warmth, empathy, and genuineness.
• Conducts luggage searches and room searches as necessary for safety.
• Attends and participates in treatment team meetings and MDS as requested.
• Maintains accurate and timely charting in the EMR system.
• Assists with any resident assignments as directed.
