Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinates, monitors, and maintains shower schedules.
• Orients new shower clients with the following steps:
• connecting to appropriate staff to ensure registration and insurance enrollment
• providing a tour of the health center
• basic assessment to link to internal services
• Reviews Taper Shower Program rules
• Monitors client behavior and ensures compliance of Taper Shower Program rules with existing shower clients.
• Distributes disposable towels, toiletries, and/or donations (if applicable) to each shower client.
• Maintains order and assists facilities personnel in keeping all assigned areas clean and free of spills, trash and safety hazards.
• Performs routine shower checks.
• Responsible for the storage of donations during the shift.
• Completes incident reports in a timely manner.
• Contacts security guard and on-site designated supervisor for any security/safety emergency or disturbance within or immediately outside the facility.
• Delivers services with safety, respect and effectiveness.

Position Requirements:

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Committed to working with the homeless and disconnected population.
• Must be flexible and able to multi task.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the work environment.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Must possess a high degree of common sense.
• Must be empathetic and caring.
