SA RECYCLING is Hiring a Transportation Dispatcher Near Savannah, GA

We are looking for a hard-working and reliable individual to join our team as a Transportation Dispatcher. As a Dispatcher you will be responsible for coordinating shipment schedules, assigning and dispatching drivers for load pick up and/or deliveries, planning routes, proving rate quotes and analysis, monitor SA Recycling’s quality standards, and maintain a high level of customer service and support for our drivers and clients. It is on-site and will require you to work intermittently outside in varying weather conditions while learning the business and roles. SA Recycling strictly adheres to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.

Responsibilities of the Dispatcher

  • Schedule and dispatch company or contracted drivers to deliver and pick up a wide range of materials from both customer and feeder yards using radio and telephones.
  • Provide drivers with the relevant information to ensure timely pick-ups and deliveries to ensue high levels of customer (client) satisfaction.
  • Coordinates with drivers to resolve any issues, problems, or concerns that arise during delivery or pick up.
  • Monitor the routes and statuses of all trucks to coordinate and prioritize scheduling and optimize efficiencies.
  • Communicates with customer (client) on driver schedules and addresses any concerns or route changes.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations, including, but not limited to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and Department of Transportation (DOT), as well as SA Recycling policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Provide management with timely communication of events and reporting.

Qualifications of a Dispatcher

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience as a dispatcher or field service scheduling.
  • Understanding of FMCSR and DOT rules and regulations.
  • Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, good organizational skills, and ability to multi-task.
  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn industry specific software.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) language skills a plus.
  • Must pass credit and background check.
  • Must pass a physical and Drug screen.
