S&S Industries is Hiring a Receiving Clerk Near Houston, TX
Purpose of Job: Coordinating and executing proper paperwork and procedures for receiving Customer orders
Education/experience
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, but not required
- At least 4 years forklift experience REQUIRED
- Ability to read, communicate, understand and execute instructions
- Maintain warehouse inventory records
- Ensure quality and accuracy of shipments
- Reduce the occurrence of errors and lost items in shipments
- Oversee the successful delivery of items to and from the warehouse
- Communicate with drivers and suppliers to monitor the location of items
- Prepare outbound shipments for delivery
- Load and unload trucks as instructed
- Maintaining condition of work area equipment and following prescribed safety regulations
- Performing receipt inspections and document accuracy of received goods and Customer parts
- Marking containers or pallets with tags that identify the parts with the Customer’s P.O.
- Communicating, upon receiving Customer parts and paperwork, with immediate Supervisor, Shipping Manager or Production Manager of any discrepancies found
- Delivering of all paperwork associated with shipments to the Front Office
- Perform quality inspections and inventory of finished Customer order prior to packaging and report any discrepancies, defective materials, or conditions found to immediate Supervisor, Shipping Manager or Production Manager
- Packaging of Customer’s order for transportation, including proper prevention of damage during shipment
- Ability to operate stretch band wrappers
- Willingness to train new personnel
- Maintaining general cleanliness and organization of dock and work areas
- Willingness to learn new tasks and perform any other related duties as assigned by immediate Supervisor, Shipping Manager or Production Manager
- Willingness and ability to work weekends, as needed
