The Accounting Manager will be responsible for maintaining the organization's General Ledger, A/P, Financial Statement preparation and analysis, account analysis, and reconciliations under leadership of Controller. These functions include executing the organization's GAAP accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. Prepares financial reports and presents findings and recommendations to Finance leadership. Prepares or has prepared payroll, tax filings and licensing documents as required. Monitors cash daily and performs routine banking transactions and activities. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks and can delegate to others. Leads and directs the work of others, specifically accounts payable function. Holds others accountable. Collaborates with other members of the organization daily. Works with auditors.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides direct oversight and accountability to manage the organization’s accounts payable function.
  • Accounting Leader for the financial systems maintenance with IT and vendor support, including leading the ongoing improvement projects to increase financial process automation.
  • Supports month end, quarter end, and/or year end close activities in accordance with internal procedures and established deadlines. Prepares and reviews journal entries and accruals, and compiles records.
  • Prepares consolidated financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Identifies, resolves, and/or document variances on revenue, expenses, and balance sheet accounts.
  • Analyzes information by developing spreadsheet reports for internal reporting. Strong Excel skills required to address ad-hoc requests.
  • Prepares and reviews general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling balance sheet accounts to ensure financial integrity.
  • Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures; recommending changes.
  • Assist in special projects. Interface with external audit agencies. Provides guidance and/or training to other accountants. Consults with other areas and/or give advice on complex accounting principles.
  • Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of accounting experience required.
  • Strong math and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of accounting principles: A/P, A/R, general ledger, Financial Statement preparation and analysis, account analysis, contracts, and reconciliations
  • Previous experience in healthcare accounting is desireable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be organized and detail oriented including ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritizing workload.
  • Customer Service oriented.
  • Able to handle confidential information.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be flexible, as needed to get the job done.
