Our client seeks an Assistant Controller to join their rapidly growing business!

As Assistant Controller, you will earn up to $150,000/year, based on your experience. Plus, profit sharing.

This is a full-time, direct hire position where you will work daytime hours Monday-Friday. Training will be in their office in the Des Moines metro area for approximately 4-6 weeks. After training, you will work in the Des Moines metro area with the opportunity to work remote one day per week.

Some of your responsibilities as Assistant Controller include managing global consolidation processes, as well as:

• Further developing the company’s consolidation process and accounting policies
• Managing various processes and governance related to the core global accounting system
• Preparing timely and accurate financial reports
• Overseeing monthly consolidation process
• Leading annual budgeting process
• Helping consolidate global budgets
• Reviewing intercompany elimination entries
• Maintaining detailed documentation
• Managing the preparation of key close
• Managing the preparation of the balance sheets and statements
• Reporting schedules monthly and quarterly
• Managing multiple ledgers and hierarchies for reporting
• Working with stakeholders on key projects
• Developing employees through performance management
• Supervising employees
• Complex problem solving
• Driving process improvement
• Serving as the main point of contact for external auditors
• Providing solutions/alternatives to challenging audit requests and inquiries
• Other duties as assigned

To qualify for the Assistant Controller position, you must have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with a minimum of seven (7) years of audit and/or financial accounting experience, Management experience, as well as:

• Strong leadership skills
• Management experience
• 2 years of recent experience as an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller or similar role while supervising others
• International experience
• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
• Experience working within ERP systems
• Understanding of foreign currency
• Analytical skills
• Proficient with MS Office (Power Point, Word, etc.)
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
• Ability to implement and maintain complex accounting systems
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving skills
• CPA or MBA is a plus
