Position
INFANT/TODDLER TEACHER
Objective:
To provide quality care for all clients in such a way that they remain enrolled and benefit from our programs and services.
Requirements and Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Must be 18 years of age or older
· 12 ECE units including Child Development, Child/Family/Community, and a program or curriculum course
· 3 units Infant/Toddler Course
· 6 months experience in a licensed child-care facility
· Complete required trainings, such as Mandated Reporter
· Upon hire, must provide proof of Measles and Pertussis vaccinations, in addition, Influenza vaccination or a written declaration declining vaccination
· CPR/First Aid Certification
Duties:
· Maintain a nurturing, sanitary, and safe environment
· Keep accurate records of daily care for each child
· Maintain a roll book of attendance
· Maintain on-going communication with parents concerning infant’s needs
· Be consistent with attendance and quality performance
· Exhibit warmth and emotional stability for staff and children
· Supervise Infant Room assistants in care of infants
· Inform Director immediately of any repairs to keep environment safe
· Report children’s progress to parents and Director
· Assist in training new staff members in Infant Room
· Attend all staff meetings and in-service sessions
· Be present at Parent/Teacher conferences, with Director, concerning infants
· Ensure that every effort is made for the center to meet each child’s needs
· Conduct all business in a courteous manner
· Immediate supervisor is the Director or Assistant Director if the Director is unavailable
