The role of the Critical Care Registered Nurse is to provide quality nursing care, in collaboration with the medical staff and within the guidelines of the New Jersey State Nurse Practice Act, to those patients experiencing life-threatening problems,
It is the responsibility of the Critical Care RN to implement the Hospital's Mission and goals in settings where patients require complex assessment, high-intensity therapies and interventions and continuous nursing vigilance,
Critical care nurses rely upon a specialized body of knowledge, skills and experience to provide care to patients and families and create environments that are healing, humane and caring,
The critical care nurse is a patient advocate, respecting and supporting the basic values, rights and beliefs of the critically ill patient,
BSN required,
Registered Nurse with a minimum 2 years of experience in Nursing,
Current Basic Life Support BLS, Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS, and Critical Care Nurse Certification preferred,
Demonstrates competency in arrhythmia interpretation or completion of an arrhythmia interpretation course during orientation,
Completes 8 hours of continuing education in the area of cerebrovascular disease and receives annual education on thrombolytic preparation and administration,
Documented completion of a critical care course or completion of a critical care course within three months of hire,
Completion of TCAR Trauma Care After Resuscitation every two years,
$80,509 Minimum to $111,274 Maximum Annual Base Salary
