Job Overview:

The Department of Otolaryngology- Head & Neck Surgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School is seeking a Research Coordinator. Under the direction of the Chair, the Research Coordinator is responsible for conducting high-quality research in conjunction with faculty, surgical residents and medical students in the field of ENT.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in public health, healthcare management, computer science, health information systems or plus three years experience as indicated in lieu of degree
• Must be highly motivated, have excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with our faculty, students and residents
• Should have a strong grasp of departmental management structures, human resources, financial processes, and confidentiality principles
• Sound knowledge of IRB process, research methodology, statistical analysis, and data interpretation,
• Proficiency in literature searches and the use of statistical software, such as SPSS, SAS
• Additionally, proficiency in software like Microsoft Office, Zoom, and resident management systems is crucial

Preferred:

• Masters degree is highly desirable, as well as research and coordination experience

Essential Functions:

• Assist in the design and execution of highly specialized and technical research
• Execute the following in accordance with all aspects of the protocol: patient recruitment, consenting, and initiation
• Assist Principal Investigators to code, analyze and interpret data and write scholarly reports
• Prepare reports and assist with statistical analysis,
• Utilize knowledge of statistics and medical understanding to propose and perform additional analyses when appropriate
• Analyses and report generation may require use of statistical programming such as STATA or SPSS, as well as qualitative analysis programming
• Collaborate with principal investigators, sponsors and external representatives to ensure that project results and conclusions are presented accurately and without bias and to jointly achieve objectives and timelines
• Identify potential data problems from analytic queries and take appropriate actions to guide the resolution process
• assist with data cleaning and data management
• Writes statistical text for study reports and clinical publications
• Prepares analysis plans and methods used for incorporation in abstracts, manuscripts and grants
• Assist residents/staff in the use of biostatistical applications
