Job Overview-
The Cancer Center at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center in partnership with Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey delivers the highest level of oncology care, including clinical trials to patients and families in Livingston, New Jersey. Working with teams of dedicated physicians, pharmacists, nurses, social workers. You will deliver care to patients with hematologic malignancies, including bone marrow transplant and CAR-T treatments.
You will provide collaborative physician based care with appropriate levels of autonomy. A focus on high quality and safety in critical to support this high-risk patient population and deliver beyond standard of care to their patients and families. This position is focused in the outpatient area.
Qualifications:
Required:
Graduate from Accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program
Certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of New Jersey.
Masters prepared in Nursing from an accredited program
BLS and ACLS certified.
1-2 years hem/malignancy experience
Scheduling Requirements:
Essential Functions:
Performs comprehensive initial and episodic health assessments in order to identify existing or potential health problems.
Initiates and implements individualized nursing and medical plan of care in collaboration with members of multidisciplinary team
Initiates appropriate diagnostic, therapeutic, medical and nursing actions in conjunction with physicians
Provides follow up care including, acute and routine examinations
Assesses progress, identify problems, initiate preventive measures, recognizes emergent problems and initiates proper care in collaboration with physicians
Monitors and adjusts patients medication according to protocol or medical plan of care including adequate pain control
