Job Overview:

Performs diagnostic computed tomography procedures within the scope defined by Regulatory and Departmental QC standards. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology
• NJ Radiology license
• ARRT Certification
• BLS through the American Heart Association

Scheduling Requirements:

• Evening shift hours
• 40 hours per week

Essential Functions:

• Performs computed axial tomography procedures working with patients ranging in age from neo-natal to geriatric
• Identifies problems and communicates to immediate supervisor/charge staff; offers solutions as appropriate
• Provides radiation protection to patient, staff and self according to prescribed safety standards
• Performs venipuncture and administers IV contrast according to protocol
• Describes nature and time requirements of requested examination to patient, at an age-appropriate level,
• Reviews images for proper positioning, technique, identification
• Performs venipuncture and administers IV contrast according to protocol
• Understands and utilizes aseptic technique and universal precautions
