RWE Planning and Design is looking for a commercial Interior Designer to work at our office in Downers Grove! The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial interior design and will have knowledge of the construction process. This position reports to the Director of Design.

Conceptual Design/Design Development:

• Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, preferences, and budgetary constraints.
• Develop design concepts, mood boards, 3D models/ renderings for presentation materials to communicate design proposals effectively.
• Create space plans, furniture layouts, and interior architectural details.
• Conduct site visits and surveys to assess existing conditions and gather necessary information for design development.

Material Selection and Specification:

• Research and recommend suitable materials, finishes, furnishings, and fixtures for each project.
• Prepare material boards, samples, and documentation to present design selections to clients.
• Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and manufacturers to source and procure materials.

Construction Documentation:

• Prepare detailed construction drawings, including floor plans, reflected plans, interior elevations, floor and wall finish drawings, sections, and details.
• Provide specifications and schedules for interior finishes, fixtures, and equipment.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure design intent is accurately reflected in the construction documents.
• Review and approve shop drawings, samples, and mock-ups for compliance with design intent and specifications.

Client Relations:

• Cultivate strong relationships with clients by understanding their needs and providing exceptional design solutions.
• Conduct client presentations and meetings to present design concepts, progress updates, and final design deliverables.
• Respond promptly to client inquiries, concerns, and feedback throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide post-project support and assistance as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

• 5 years of experience as an interior designer
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite
• Proficient in Revit and Bluebeam
