AT A GLANCE

We are seeking a Software Engineer - Full Stack with a deep understanding of both backend and frontend technologies, including Go, AWS Lambda, Terraform, React, Next.js, MUI, and Tailwind CSS. The ideal candidate will have experience with distributed systems, serverless architectures, and AWS infrastructure. This role requires a commitment to best practices, a strong technical acumen, and the ability to work efficiently in our tech stack.

Where You'll Be

To prioritize togetherness, culture, and accountability, RVO Health operates on a hybrid in-office work schedule. We expect employees to work from our Atlanta office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week. You are welcome to work remotely Mondays and Fridays if you wish.

What You'll Do

  • Backend Development: You will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services using Go, following idiomatic Go practices such as effective Go routines, proper error handling, and package organization. You will leverage AWS Lambda for serverless computing, creating functions that respond to events and automatically manage resources. You will also use Terraform to manage our infrastructure as code, ensuring our environments are reproducible, scalable, and maintainable.
  • Frontend Development: You will architect, build, and maintain our frontend codebase, focusing on the creation of highly reusable and efficient components. Using React, you will encapsulate functionality into modular components, following best practices such as single responsibility principle and composition over inheritance.
  • Drive Best Practices: You will drive the adoption of frontend best practices. This includes advocating for clean code principles, enforcing strict typing with TypeScript, promoting test-driven development (TDD), and ensuring accessibility standards are met.
  • API Design: You will design and implement robust APIs using RESTful principles or GraphQL, ensuring they are secure, efficient, and easy to consume by our frontend team. You will also implement API Gateway for routing, throttling, and securing access to your services.
  • Performance Optimization: You will ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. This includes optimizing your Go code for efficiency, managing database performance with AWS RDS or DynamoDB, and handling memory management in a serverless environment.
  • Code Reviews: You will conduct thorough code reviews, ensuring high-quality code and providing constructive feedback to team members. This includes checking for idiomatic Go practices, ensuring adherence to SOLID principles, and promoting efficient algorithms.
  • Collaboration: You will work closely with our frontend team and other stakeholders, ensuring seamless integration of backend services.

What We're Looking For

  • Backend Expertise: Extensive experience in backend development, with a deep understanding of Go, AWS Lambda, and Terraform. You should be comfortable with idiomatic Go practices, serverless computing, and managing infrastructure as code.
  • Frontend Expertise: Extensive experience in frontend development, with a deep understanding of React, Next.js, MUI, and Tailwind CSS. You should be comfortable with component-based architecture, hooks and context API for state management, server-side rendering, and CSS-in-JS for styling. You should also have a proven track record of creating reusable, efficient components that drive a consistent and responsive UI across the platform.
  • Best Practices: Proven experience in driving frontend best practices. You should be familiar with clean code principles, strict typing with TypeScript, test-driven development (TDD), and accessibility standards.
  • API Design: Experience in designing and implementing robust APIs. You should understand RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and be familiar with AWS API Gateway.
  • Performance Optimization: Experience in performance optimization. You should be familiar with profiling and optimizing Go code, managing database performance with AWS RDS or DynamoDB, and handling memory management in a serverless environment.
  • Code Reviews: Experience in conducting thorough code reviews and providing constructive feedback. You should be familiar with clean code principles, SOLID principles, and efficient algorithms.
  • Collaboration: Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with frontend developers and other stakeholders.
