Rutger University is Hiring a Community Outreach Specialist Near Brunswick, NJ
Rutgers University-Newark, an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking a Community Outreach Specialist within the School of Criminal Justice (SCJ). Under the supervision of the NPSC Program Manager, this position provides community outreach support to the Newark Public Safety Collaborative (NPSC). The NPSC is a cross-sector group with public safety and data-informed community engagement as its core programs. It is part of the School of Criminal Justice's Anchor Initiative on behalf of the Newark Chancellor.
This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:
- Supports current and future NPSC data-informed community engagement projects and activities
- Conducts regular visits to community groups in the City of Newark
- Engages in discussions with multiple local stakeholders
- Provides data explanations to community agencies
- Assists in the preparation of meetings, and other community outreach activities
