General Shop Maintenance

Job description

Position Summary:

Keep buildings in clean, safe, and orderly condition.

Perform duties, such as cleaning floors, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish. Performing routine maintenance activities, including some electrical repairs, plumbing repairs, mechanical repairs, cosmetic building repairs, parking lot maintenance, cleaning debris from building and parking lots, parts run, etc.

Running parts to locations.

Tasks:

• Help maintain buildings and grounds through mechanical, electrical, plumbing and or cosmetic repairs.
• Clean and maintain back lot.
• Clean windows or mirrors, using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, or squeegees.
• Gather and empty trash or debris.
• Notify managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
• Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Requisition supplies or equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.
• Clean up spills, leaks, drips.
• Set up and remove barricades due to hazardous conditions.
• Perform and document daily forklift inspection(s); Perform and document monthly shop equipment inspections.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Experience and Education:

High School Diploma - or the equivalent (for example, GED).

Mechanical, plumbing, and electrical aptitude.

Safety first attitude.

Know and understand how to properly use personal protection equipment (PPE).

Know how to properly use and operate hand and power tools.

Physical Requirements:

The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs with ease. Ability to carry up to 100 lbs.

Job Type: Part Time

Schedule:

Few hours each day or flexible for alternating days. The average should be about 4-6 hours per day depending on workload.

Pay Rate:

$15-18 depending on qualifications.

Job Type: Part-time

• Monday to Friday
• On call
• Weekends as needed
