Position Responsibilities

Provides support to the Maintenance Manager in the daily shop functions and the Diesel Mechanic staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Complete ‘Out of Service Form’ to document Drivers description of truck mechanical issues.

· Answers phone calls regarding Drivers concerns and directs them to the correct location for repair or aids with procedures to follow when break-down issues arise.

· Generates repair orders in the system and distributes to mechanics with Maintenance Manager’s guidance. Once work is completed, closes repair orders in the system.

· Monitor repairs and ensures mechanics are completing scheduled repairs within the time allocated for such repairs. Communicates any issues and concerns to Maintenance Manager.

· Verifies that repair order documents have correct parts/part numbers that were issued for that repair. Communicates any issues or concerns to Maintenance Manager.

· Assists Maintenance Manager with daily PM schedule and general repair schedule by prioritizing and assigning work as required – ensuring accurate data entry in the system.

· Responsible for data entry and approval of external authorizations (within monetary limit assigned).

· Ensure the cleanliness of the parts storage area, parts counter, and parts receiving area.

Computer Skills

Must be computer literate in Microsoft office, and work processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.

Education Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.

Experience Requirements

1 year of experience in related field.

Core Competencies

Must be able to work amid constant interruptions, prioritize and deal with time pressures, and be able to clearly communicate verbally and in written form. Must have good organization skills, and have basic math skills for tracking trends and for report writing. Must be autonomous and self-directed.

Must be able to lift 30 lbs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
