Our client, an American multinational mass media and business information conglomerate, is seeking a Sales Tax Accountant on a hybrid basis.
Contract – W2 Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $50 - $56 per hour DOE
Duties:
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of sales and use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
- Provide crucial support during sales and use tax audits, including the preparation of documentation and responses to auditor inquiries.
- Calculate and analyze sales and use tax liabilities for financial reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial statements.
- Track, research, and calculate the impact of regulatory changes on sales and use tax obligations.
- Provide recommendations for optimizing tax strategies and maintaining compliance.
- Multi-state sales tax experience
- Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, controls, and best practices
- 5 years of experience in sales and use tax accounting.
- Strong understanding of multi-state tax regulations and filings.
- Experience with tax software and ERP systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA certification preferred.
