Summary:
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Supply Chain Manager, the Operations Supervisor (Operating Room) supervises all on-site staff in their delivery of supply chain services. Continually evaluates progress toward objectives and maintains efficient and effective day-to-day operations. Responsible for implementing cost savings through supply chain inventory reduction, optimization, and operational improvements while ensuring the availability of supplies. Optimizes Just-in-time programs; monitors and maintains hospital inventories; maintains customized logistic plans to optimize utilization of inventory for system. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
Job Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for implementing process improvements and applying best practice methodologies, as well as cost savings through operating room inventory optimization in partnership with the clinical operational team.
  • Responsible for the management of operating room inventory areas. Develops strategies to ensure the optimal levels of inventory are achieved; utilizing sound supply chain techniques as well as new technology when applicable.
  • Reviews, monitors and documents employee performance, attendance and behavior.
  • Responsible for establishing and ensuring compliance with all Supply Chain policies and procedures.
  • Manage the effective distribution of surgical supplies to designated locations, within the Operating Room.
  • Responsible for inventory cycle count audits, monitoring expiring/at-risk inventory, and working through outstanding orders – providing substitute options.
  • Maintaining audit schedule.
  • Reconfiguration of any assigned locations (par level adjustments and removals/additions of product)
  • Proactively identify and manage operational risks, issues as it relates to effective management of inventory
  • Assists Supply Chain Techs when necessary to close operational gaps.
  • Ensure all documents are posted daily in Link and receive appropriate signatures as required.
  • Communicates to multiple-functional managers in timely manner.
  • Collaborate in departmental planning and identify operational vulnerabilities and operational opportunities.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned and/or required including supervising other areas or shifts.
Other information:
Required Job Qualifications:
  • Associate Degree with 2 years of supply chain, distribution or receiving experience or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Knowledge of computer applications and software programs, including MS Office (Outlook, Excel and Word) Internet Applications.
  • Knowledge of Inventory Control processes.
  • Must be able to demonstrate ability to lead and mentor a team and its individuals in adopting new job techniques and skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure with strict deadlines to meet changing workload demands and priorities.
  • Superior organizational skills with attention to detail.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
  • 1 years as a lead or supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management
  • Experience with purchasing, expediting, quality/continuous improvement initiatives, perioperative safety practices and relevant software applications.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and practices preferred, but not required.
