Rural King Supply is Hiring a Network Administrator Near Mattoon, IL

Overview

The purpose of the Network Administrator is to support the Rural King Supply Network infrastructure company wide.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the Rural King Network infrastructure.
  • Resolve network level calls and tickets.
  • Complete Layer 2 troubleshooting and replacement of network equipment.
  • Analyze, document, create, and test systems.
  • Create and modify computer programs related to system design specifications.
  • Setup and stage new store network equipment.
  • Responsible for network wiring and project layouts.
  • Use discretion and independent judgment in daily decisions while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • May be required to cross train and perform other duties.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of relevant network experience and bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Must be proficient in Layer 1 wiring – 66/110 Blocks.
  • Knowledge of the OSI Model.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and triage Layer 1 and 2 issues.
  • Experience managing project timelines.
  • Willing to learn advanced network concepts and design.
  • Cisco environment experience a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong understanding of retail business practices.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor team members.
  • Demonstrated behaviors must reflect integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

  • Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department across facilities.
  • Must be able to verbally communicate effectively with others (in-person and via electronic devices).
  • Must have close visual acuity.
