HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC SPECIALIST

Rummel Construction, Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of heavy machinery, including operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, and will potentially train other mechanics. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment, contributing to the success of our projects. We are looking for a candidate with 7-10 years' experience working on CAT (or similar) equipment. This is a safety sensitive position and requires the use of a company vehicle.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Lift/load/unload and carry up to 50 lbs
  • The ability to walk, sit, squat, get in/out of equipment safely, stand and bend for long periods of time
  • Safely operate a company vehicle
  • Practice the safe use of hand tools, power tools, drill presses, grinding machines, welding and flame-cutting equipment and jacks and hoists to lift and move large parts
  • Complete Pre and Post-Trip Inspections, maintain electronic driver logs and ensure DOT compliance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working directly on the repair of CAT, John Deere, or other manufacturer of heavy equipment
  • Able to Diagnose & Repair Tier4 final
  • Strong knowledge of major components (Engine, Transmissions)
  • Able to use & understand Cat ET/ Cummins Insite/ John Deere Service Advisor
  • Willing to train mechanics
  • Personal Tooling
  • An acceptable driving record and the ability to obtain a DOT Med card
