Rugby Architectural Building Products is Hiring a Remote Bill of Material Technician (nationwide)

Rugby Architectural Building Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty building products, operating out of 29 branches throughout the United States. We primarily sell lumber products for our customers to make beautiful things and build happiness.

We are looking for a meticulous Bill of Material Technician to join our team at Rugby Architectural Building Products. In this role, you will collaborate with various stakeholders to produce standardized Bills of Material (BOM) in our enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.

Your Day to Day:

  • You create, update, and maintain standardized bills of material within our resource planning software (DMSi Agility).
  • Collaborate with managers, sales staff, and specification representatives to understand customer needs and requirements.
  • Work closely with product line managers to select relevant products and components for creating bills of material.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of BOMs by cross-referencing with product specifications and inventory data.
  • Regularly review and update BOMs to reflect changes in product offerings.
  • Provide training and support to internal teams on ERP system navigation.
  • Collaborate with IT and ERP administrators to optimize system functionality for BOM management.
  • Optimize BOMs to meet our operational and customer needs.
  • Assist with data input, import, and export.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with supporting vendors.
  • Understand, at both high and detailed levels, how BOMs interact throughout the company.

Requirements:

  • Experience in inventory management, Bill of Material Creation, and the millwork / door industries.
  • Proven experience in product or inventory management.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably DMSi Agility.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with BOMs and product configurations is a plus.
  • Experience in our industry (hardwood lumber, millwork, and especially door fabrication) is preferred.
