RTI International is Hiring a Senior Research Education Analyst Near Durham, NC

Overview

The Education Practice Area at RTI International empowers learners of all ages by advancing equitable, science-based practices and policies to improve access to high-quality education and training that prepares all learners for an ever-changing workforce and world. Education Practice Area staff design and conduct high-quality education surveys, including some of the largest education studies in the nation, leaning deeply into partnerships with clients for the entire lifecycle of a study, from school recruitment to the dissemination of analyses and findings. The Education Practice Area is searching for a Senior Research Education Analyst to join our team as a project leader supporting the National Assessment for Educational Progress (NAEP). This position can be located at our headquarters in Research Triangle Park, NC, one of our regional offices, or remotely as a teleworker in the U.S.

This position is contingent upon funding.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serve as Project Director and as decision making authority for large tasks and budgets for education studies in
    elementary/secondary/postsecondary education research and evaluation (i.e. NAEP).
  • Provide project management and quality assurance of research activities.
  • Mentor the task leaders and project managers who directly work under them to develop, implement and monitor
    education research designs.
  • Design, implement and analyze advanced education research models.
  • Perform highly complex statistical and cost-effectiveness education research analyses.
  • Responsible for the project work products such as the data collection manuals, progress reports, budgets, and Internal Review Board and OMB packages.
  • Prepare significantly complex reports, analyses and papers for publication.
  • Lead the marketing of RTI capabilities to new clients.
  • Plan and direct the entire preparation of proposals for large education research and evaluation projects of significant
    technical complexity, contract value, or strategic importance.
  • Communicate with clients in contract negotiations and business development activities.
  • Meet scientific stature goals by submitting papers to peer-reviewed journals, participation in professional meetings and associations, and development of tools and methods to advance RTI's capabilities.
  • Mentor and assist staff.
  • Develop and expand RTI reputation as ""resident expert"" in a technical/methodological area (e.g., frequently authoring articles published in peer-reviewed journals; making presentations to internal/external clients and at professional meetings, etc.).
  • Generate business opportunities by establishing close client relationships and being recognized for technical expertise.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 15 years of experience; or a Master's degree and at least 12 years of experience; or a PhD and at least 8 years of experience.
  • Prior State Education NAEP and NAEP support systems.
  • Successful project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, staff supervision, and client interaction.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and statistical computing software.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to listen and communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to obtain proper security clearances as noted by contracts.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below. Our pay ranges represent national averages and may vary by location as a geographic differential may be applied to some locations within the United States.
