• Provide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations including coordinating reviews and compilations of complex financial statements, including related disclosures, and other client deliverables.
• Develop an understanding of the client’s business and needs and provide them with relevant business insights.
• Understand and utilize RSM’s review and compilation methodology.
• Collaborate with the engagement manager on engagement approach and execute on the plan in an effective and resource efficient manner.
• Recognize industry-specific and general accounting and assurance issues, including revenue recognition, inventory pricing, receivable discounts, allowances, incentives and bad debts, current and deferred tax provisions, etc.
• Determine appropriate analytics, inquiry, and support for such areas.
• Provide insightful feedback on financial statements and prepare other client deliverables such as supplementary schedules, management representation letters, etc.
• Function as an in-charge, monitoring and reporting regarding productivity and adherence to work plan and budget
• Interact with clients as the primary engagement team contact, keeping both the engagement team and the client team informed and progressing towards goals
• Identify and communicate significant accounting and assurance matters to engagement manager and partner
• Provide developmental and performance feedback for team members
• Understand client and industry issues, and recognize opportunities for RSM to assist the client in increasing level and types of services
• Manage time appropriately across multiple projects
• Keep abreast of industry developments by reading trade publications and other relevant thought leadership
• Ensure professional development through ongoing education

Required Qualifications

• BS/BA Degree in Accounting or equivalent degree
• CPA or CA Certification
• 5 years of current or recent experience in a public accounting environment
• Experience leading teams and mentoring associates
• Minimum of 4 years of team lead or in-charge experience overseeing Staff on multiple engagements
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
• A successful record of directing and deploying Staff and Senior Associates on multiple, simultaneous engagements
• Understanding of audit services with knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and GASB regulations

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in reviews, compilations, and accounting assistance
• Experience working directly with clients, including being the primary point of contact
• Experience with accounting and assurance standards research
