Growing start-up manufacturing company, transforming metal framing into an ultra-fast, snap-together construction system, is seeking a Controller to bring our accounting in-house. As an early start-up, we offer a competitive base salary plus equity. We need a hands-on Controller to prepare financial statements, implement policies and procedures, and handle cost accounting, including COGS. The Controller is a key member of the leadership team, contributing to all areas of management and providing strong financial leadership. The role entails providing financial direction and recommendations to enhance accounting efficiencies and effectiveness.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
• Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements and other operational reports
• Analyze variances and communicate explanations to management with recommended actions
• Prepare forecasts of income statement, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for the Plant
• Train new staff and lead the professional development of the existing team
• Share best practices across the global finance team, such as process improvements, financial modeling, and procedural changes
• Provide proactive consultation, interpretation, and education of complex financial and operational matters to various department leaders to inform business decisions
• Monitor and implement internal controls (in line with corporate policies) to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risks
• Ensure proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and local statutory requirements
• Prepare COGS and journal entries

Skills Required:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar Accounting Manager or Controller position
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Cost accounting experience
• Experience in handling multiple concurrent tasks and meeting strict deadlines
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and legal documents
• Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries from the business
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, public groups, peers, and staff
• May require travel for global finance forums or site-specific events
• Excellent communication skills, both internally and with clients
• Bachelor’s degree required
