Job Position: Manager/Director of Visuals (Software Manager – Graphics Development)

Our company is looking for a Software Development Manager to oversee our Visuals Development team. Our ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in software engineering or computer science, as well as several years of experience in the field. We prefer candidates who have spent some of this time in a leadership position. In this role, you will hire new development staff, oversee each aspect of the development process, and act as the liaison between your team and upper management. You should be familiar with both 3D Graphics and software programming.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop features across multiple subsystems within our Runtime Software (RTS), including collaboration in requirements definition, prototyping, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
• Managing all the activities of the software development team and setting goals for each team member to ensure timely project delivery
• Defining project scope, timelines, and resource allocation
• Providing guidance to the team and ensuring they adhere to development standards
• Ensuring adherence to software development methodologies and best practices
• Participate in interactions with customers as a technical expert for the RTS
• Collaborating with stakeholders to gather project requirements
• Managing software development budgets and expenses
• Conducting performance evaluations and career development discussions
• Identifying training and skill development needs for the team
• Reviewing proposals for bids and providing cost estimates for database and software requirements
• Creating a budget and timeline for development projects
• Fostering team building between database and software development teams

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering or computer science
• 5 years professional software development experience with extensive experience developing, deploying, and integrating software solutions
• 5 years management experience, with proven experience leading development teams
• 2 years’ experience with the .NET Framework
• Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, time-management, and problem-solving skills
• Extensive experience with C , and Visual Studio
• Working experience in OpenGL, GLSL and computer graphics principles
• Proficiency developing and troubleshooting complex software systems that run in mixed environments
• Execution focus – proven track record of on-time and in-budget delivery of high-quality SW and process-based solutions
• Excellent organizational, communication verbal and written, mentoring, and conflict management skills
• Experience with full flight simulators, preferably commercial Level D
• Understanding of FAA Part 60 a plus
• Ability to travel – CONUS and OCONUS. Must have valid passport or able to obtain during employment
• Must be willing to re-locate to the DFW area
