RSG Landscaping is Hiring a Procurement Manager Near Lynchburg, VA

SUMMARY

The plant procurement manager is responsible for estimating and procuring of all plant material for RSG Landscaping projects. This role demands a high level of plant expertise, focus and dexterity to manage the efficient purchasing and procurement of goods, vendor relations, and accurate billing.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Work with estimator(s) with providing timely and cost-efficient quotes on plant material
  • Create RFQs to solicit bids from vendors
  • Inspect and tag plants as needed
  • Coordinate plant deliveries to plant yard and job sites
  • Plant care management
  • Maintain accurate computerized records of items purchased, and cost
  • Promote and manage effective relationships with vendor
  • Organize project need for efficient and effective sourcing and delivery
  • Manage logistics and oversee delivery and pickup of plant materials to job sites
  • Accurately bill and account for all products purchased for billing and project costings
  • Create summaries, evaluate bids and select material and vendors to best fill those material requirements
  • Sources, negotiates and secures plant material
  • Clearly communicate timing, materials, etc. with team members
  • Communicates with vendors regarding product availability and purchase orders
  • Manages logistics for plant material by ensuring timely, economical, and freight-efficient deliveries from vendors
  • Any other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES PREFERRED

  • Understanding of purchasing and inventory
  • Must possess strong analytical skills and excellent customer service skills
  • Strong ability to prioritize and organize workload
  • Plant knowledge
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines
  • Ability to follow the process through to completion and keep others informed
  • Experience in working in a team environment
  • Certified VNLA Certified Horticulturist
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Possession and retention of a valid Virginia Driver's License and the maintenance of a satisfactory driving record
  • Certification as a VNLA Certified Horticulturist
  • Certifications necessary for specific work unit, such as and/or first aid and CPR certificates, as applicable.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl; and to talk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and to smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move 25 pounds and must occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds, depending on the needs of the specific work unit. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $47,500.00 - $60,000.00 per year
