Support PM Sensors-Aerial Intelligence as a Field Engineer for the Multi-Domain Sensing System (MDSS). As an intelligence sensors subject matter expert on the engineering team, candidate will serve as the team representative for all field related activities to support Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (AISR) sensors, represent MDSS program office at test events and exercises for those sensors and their integration on aircraft platforms, provide sensor expertise and reach-back support at pre- and post-deployment activities and provide expertise to evaluate Communications Intelligence (COMINT), Electronic Intelligence (ELINT), and Synthetic-Aperture Radar (SAR) / Moving Target Indicator (MTI) solutions.Responsibilities:
  • Represent PD SAI PL MDSS at program events and activities as a Field Engineer responsible for the SAI sensors and Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), who will have reach-back support to the rest of the SAI and MDSS teams.
  • Analyzes system requirements and concept of operations documents, acquisition plans, and system description to review, develop and/or provide feedback on engineering and training documentation. Develop plans and milestones and participate in sensor-related activities at exercises, test events, training activities and deployment activities.
  • Responsible for providing input to program artifacts with a focus on aerial sensor operator and mission commander roles, to ensure the functionality of the sensors and subsystems, and related training products, is adequate for contractor and military operators.
  • Works with internal and external test, engineering, logistics and program office personnel in a collaborative team environment. Provides specialized field engineering support tailored to AISR system functionality, quality, and performance.
  • Provide technical and engineering support to assist civilian and military sensor operators or maintenance personnel to operate or train on sensor systems. Will also require candidate to identify and isolate faulty system software and/or hardware components and restore the system(s) to full operational capabilities.
  • Attend and participate in various classified and unclassified Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings, provide field engineering input to vendors and team members.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time, OCONUS travel will be required.
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Computer Science, Operations Research/Systems Analysis, or a related field preferred.
  • Active DoD Top Secret SCI Clearance
  • Requires at least 5 years field engineering experience, with at least 1 year on Airborne Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (AISR) systems
  • Experience with COMINT, ELINT, and SAR/MTI sensor integration on an aerial platform
  • Experience with aircraft flight handling and general flight operations and support including Army Airworthiness Release (AWR)
  • Experience with DoD Acquisition programs, interacting with program and proponent teams and leaders, including briefing general officers and executives.
