RS H is Hiring a Transportation Office Leader (Colorado) Near Loveland, CO

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer / Office Leader to join the Transportation-Infrastructure Practice in our Loveland/Colorado office.

The successful Office Leader must demonstrate the ability to build our Northern Colorado practice with the ability to manage diverse work tasks requiring engineering, communication, and management expertise. The successful candidate will also serve as a Project Manager taking a leadership role in design, production, and quality assurance/quality control procedures, while working with existing clients and identifying new clients to maintain a successful operation and interactive working environment. The Office Leader will have a record of successful business development and client relationships. The Office Leader will be responsible for internal RS&H processes for project management, financial budgeting/billing, business and contract transactions, negotiations with clients and human resource activities. The Office leader will help clients meet their goals and bring innovative solutions to clients problems.

Qualifications:

  • Active, good-standing Professional Engineering license in the state of Colorado;
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university;
  • 15 years of progressive leadership experience within transportation engineering ideally in Colorado;
  • Experience in a project management and administration role on complex; transportation projects, including conventional design-bid-build, design-build, and on-call contracts (e.g. IDIQ, GEC, or Program Management contracts);
  • Thorough knowledge of Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) policies and procedures;
  • Experience in a leadership role in the public or private sectors, with emphasis on building and managing a highly competent and professional group of engineers;
  • Strong supervisory skills leading multiple teams and people, and established client relationships/marketing and business development experience;
  • Ability to market and maintain positive and trusted relationships with clients, staff, and sub-consultant partners;
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail along with overall quality control and management;
  • Conscientious of project schedules and deadlines involving deliverables (including interim deadlines); and
  • Ability to track individual project tasks and financial management of individual and overall project tasks.

Goals and Objectives:

  • Expand market share with RS&H clients, including CDOT, City of Boulder and other Northern Colorado clients. This role will be responsible for growing relationships in Northern Colorado.
  • Identify, lead client management plan efforts, and pre-market new clients to RS&H and pursue potential opportunities in coordination with RS&H;
  • Support development of the RS&H Colorado business plan and pursuit of transportation excellence while demonstrating business acumen.
  • Support and lead human resources functions, including all components of managing current associates and new hires in the Loveland Office such as managing and motivating office staff, leading associate development, and ensuring that company policies are observed.
  • Work cooperatively with the West Region Leader and Denver Office Leader to form a cohesive leadership team supporting the priorities of RS&H’s West Region;
  • Serve as Project Manager for project pursuits that provide the best opportunity for selection by client in such role, and that match the skillset of the Office Leader
