The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Sr. Interior Designer to join our Healthcare team in Orlando, FL

Job Summary:

This position plans and develops medium to large scope projects with many complexities, executes and coordinates projects, and may oversee a staff of designers. This position has significant project responsibility, including interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments.

This position applies sound and diverse knowledge of design principles and concepts in a broad array of assignments and related fields to make independent decisions on most technical issues. It requires the use of advanced techniques and modification/extension of theories, precepts, and practices of field. This position develops and implements new products, processes, standards, or operational plans that may have an impact on the achievement of functional requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Defines design or project elements and processes required to meet client needs, along with participating in and coordinating estimates and proposal/bid preparations. Helps ensure performance to contracts through shared planning and monitoring of work orders and deliverables with engineering, construction, and various other disciplines
  • Plans and develops design projects concerning unique and/or controversial complexities that significantly impact major company programs, including exploration of subject area, definition of scope, selection of items for investigation, and development of novel concepts and methods.
  • Participates in the conceptual design and provides full support through the entire project. Coordinates with project management, architects, other designers, and leadership on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies.
  • Promotes and maintains client relationships through all project phases. Serves as a firm ambassador in helping to win new work.
  • Develops and represents lead technical viewpoint on projects. Serves as a SME on specialized systems. Develops and applies advanced concepts and approaches to more challenging assignments
  • Reviews junior staff's work for technical accuracy and provides technical guidance to other professionals and technicians. May lead a multidisciplinary team to complete projects
  • Performs quality control reviews and ensure achievement of key milestones. Performs field reviews, inspections, and observations of ongoing construction projects to ensure projects adhere to architectural plans.
  • Maintains professional registration and licensure by ensuring conformance with professional, ethical, educational, and discipline practice requirements. Remains knowledgeable of state and local building codes, life safety codes, and other ordinances
  • May supervise direct reports, including hiring, coaching, performance reviews, development conversations, and productivity management.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned and within scope of practice

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or a related field from an accredited university
  • 10 years of related design experience
  • NCIDQ certification required
  • EDAC Certification is a plus
  • LEED and/or WELL accreditation is a plus
  • Previous experience in Healthcare is a must
