The Opportunity

Job Summary:

As an Electrical Engineer in the Transportation Market, you will have the opportunity to work with a group of design professionals to develop engineering solutions for transportation projects. The primary functions of this position are to take ownership of electrical designs as Engineer of Record, performing QC reviews for other Electrical Engineers, and coordinating deliverables. You will coordinate and work closely with other engineers to develop plans, calculations, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or other professionally recognized equivalent discipline from an accredited university
• Professional registration (PE) within the field of electrical engineering in Florida or ability to obtain the PE in Florida within 6-months of hire
• Minimum 6 years of experience with electrical design on transportation infrastructure projects (illumination, signalization, tolling, intelligent transportation systems)
• Experience with performing circuit design, voltage drop calculations, and sizing of electrical services
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, IEEE and ANSI Standards
• Experience in working as part of a multi-disciplinary design team
• Ability to work independently with general supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Florida Department of Transportation design criteria and specifications
• Proficiency in the use of the AASHTO, IES Roadway Lighting Publications, and associated design manuals
• Proficiency with AGi32 lighting analysis software
• CADD proficiency in Microstation and/or AutoCAD
